Job Specification

Location: London

Play a central role in furthering Neon’s marketing and communications strategy, both internally and externally (including for shareholders, brokers and across the London insurance market), while supporting the Group Chief Strategy Officer with project management and preparing internal and external marketing communications.

Key Responsibilities 

  • To act as the central point of contact for all Marketing and Communications queries for the Neon group
  • Deliver marketing materials and content that supports the company’s strategic priorities and raises the company’s profile
  • Responsibility and accountability for media materials, including press releases, statements, quotes and briefing documents, working with external partners to complete to a high degree of accuracy and to set deadlines
  • Leverage existing materials and think creatively to create new content, producing high quality written materials, often at very short notice
  • Develop a deep understanding of the (re)insurance industry and how Neon fits into the market – identifying potential opportunities for growth and exposure
  • Ensure that key messages are expressed accurately and consistently in relevant media and that the Company’s values are reiterated to generate media attention
  • Manage the marketing operations of the group, including supplier management and related administration
  • Responsibility for liaising with stakeholders across the business and ensure that quality and company tone are maintained at all times, whilst also being primary point of contact for our external PR agency
  • Convey complex information in a simple and impactful way for multiple channels and stakeholders
  • Generating a high degree of employee engagement – this will include regular newsletters, updating intranet pages and preparing materials for town hall meetings to be delivered by management
  • Responsibility for designing and purchasing corporate merchandise, ensuring cost and business efficiency
  • Work closely with the Corporate Strategy team to manage and execute internal and external projects


  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and project management skills
  • The ability to adapt the written word to a variety of communication mediums, from press releases to LinkedIn / Twitter updates
  • Able to work proactively and autonomously, and make strategic decisions where required
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (in particular Word and PowerPoint)
  • Website content management (WordPress), intranet design / content management (SharePoint) and social media management (LinkedIn, Twitter)
  • Reliable, determined, hardworking and ambitious
  • Adobe Creative Suite experience desirable (InDesign, Photoshop)

Qualification / Course Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent experience essential


  • A minimum of 3 years’ hands-on PR/Corporate Communications experience
  • Knowledge and experience of broader communications disciplines, including stakeholder management, marketing and brand management
  • Experience working closely with senior leadership
  • The ability to deliver results, while building strong relationships with cross-functional teams, partners and vendors
  • Experience of generating good social media engagement
  • Track record of planning and executing marketing and communications plans.
