Hires continue Neon’s ongoing Marine expansion

Neon is pleased to announce the appointment of Brian James as Class Underwriter for Cargo and Richard Mander as Class Underwriter for Marine Liability.

Brian brings over 30 years’ industry experience, most recently at Talbot Underwriting, where he was Class Underwriter and responsible for leading the Cargo/War on Land and Agency business lines. Prior to this, he spent over a decade at Wellington Underwriting, establishing both Wellington Syndicate Services and Wellington Genoa following acquisition by Catlin. He began his career at Black Sea and Baltic General Insurance, specialising in Russian and international cargo accounts.

Richard joins Neon from Brit Insurance, where he was Class Underwriter for Marine and Energy Liability. He was previously with Navigators Underwriting Agency where he was assistant liability and energy underwriter from 1997 until joining Brit in 2004.

The deep expertise Brian and Richard bring will further support the build out of Neon’s Marine team, as the company looks to expand its offering in the sector.
