Neon Announces Build Out of Claims Team

New appointments evidence Neon’s claims service ambitions

Neon’s plans to become the leading claims service provider to clients, brokers and coverholders are well underway as it completes the build out of its Claims team.

Senior hires have been made across all business classes, with the recent appointments of Gavin Coley as Technical Head of Claims and James Sterling as Claims Manager for Professional Indemnity & Financial Lines completing the build out.

Claims Director, Sharon Long, initiated the team build after joining from XL Catlin in May 2016, as part of Neon’s strategy to build a best-in-class, client-centric Claims function. The team aims to provide market-leading claims support for clients, underpinned by a refreshing approach, clear communication and responsiveness to ensure prompt resolution and payment of claims.­­

Gavin joined Neon from MS Amlin in February and brings with him over 25 years’ experience in both technical and managerial roles. He is a well-respected claims leader who has contributed to multiple London Market Sector Groups including as Chairman of the Property Insurance Group and member of the Binder Authority Strategic Claims Group and Lloyd’s Market Strategic Claims Group.

James joined Neon in March and is a UK-qualified solicitor by background, having practised law at international insurance law firm CMS Cameron McKenna before holding a senior claims role at XL Catlin. His role will focus on Financial Institutions, Directors & Officers, and Professional Indemnity.

Gavin and James form part of Sharon Long’s carefully selected, high calibre Claims team, with both technical expertise and service at their core, also including Claims Managers James Crawford and James Berry.
